Vocational students' lack of ability to understand and read technical drawings is a major obstacle to successful learning of vocational subjects, and teachers need to devote a lot of time to solving this problem. Therefore, vocational training institutions very often face the didactic challenge of how to ensure quick, effective and sustainable acquisition of knowledge and skills in reading technical drawings, especially when traditional "classical" teaching methods from books are not so effective and attractive for students.

In this case, focusing teaching and learning on work practices and the use of digital solutions can create an effective and reliable means of providing this knowledge and skills. Vocational teachers of the Alytus Vocational Training Center successfully and effectively use digital design software and 3D printing to develop the skills needed to understand and read technical drawings. This script is based on their experiences and didactic methods and aims to disseminate effective practice in a variety of teaching and learning contexts. This method can be effectively applied both in school and in the work environment.
